Salary: Starting salary in the range of £40,000 – £44,000 per annum, determined by experience and performance, with regular salary reviews reflecting progression and successful completion of agreed development milestones.

 

Job Summary:

Join a modern and expanding accountancy practice with offices across the UK as a Graduate Accountant and begin building a long-term career in accounting, finance, and compliance. This role is designed for ambitious graduates seeking more than a traditional entry-level position, offering hands-on exposure across core accounting, reporting, and regulatory functions from day one.

You will work closely with experienced accountants and finance professionals, gaining practical experience in management accounts, tax support, reconciliations, audit preparation, and compliance activities. The role includes structured development, ongoing mentoring, and clear progression pathways within the accountancy profession.

This position is particularly suited to candidates with a strong understanding of financial compliance, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, financial crime prevention, and governance frameworks within regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements for a range of clients
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Prepare VAT returns, corporation tax support, and financial reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and client accounting data
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tasks
  • Support audit preparation and compliance review processes
  • Contribute to AML and regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting
  • Work with accounting systems including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and IRIS
  • Liaise professionally with clients and external stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial regulations, and firm procedures

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline (2:1 or above preferred)
  • Fully qualified in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is a minimum requirement.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or IRIS is advantageous
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated, career-driven, and eager to develop within the accountancy profession
