Salary: Starting salary of £38,000 per annum. Upon successful completion of the ACCA qualification and becoming fully chartered within the firm, salary increases to £45,000 per annum, reflecting the transition into a qualified accounting role. 

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our growing accountancy practice in London. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious individuals at the start of their careers to gain practical experience across a broad range of accounting functions while working towards professional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and completion of year-end accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Support the preparation and submission of personal tax returns, corporation tax computations, and VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the production of accurate financial reports and management information to support client decision-making.
  • Carry out reconciliations of financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across accounting records.
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties and maintenance of client financial systems.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
  • Work closely with senior accountants to deliver high-quality client service and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Participate in financial analysis tasks to help identify trends, variances, and performance insights.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent academic background).
  • Working towards or holding a relevant Anti-Money Laundering (AML) qualification or certification.
  • Previous exposure to accounting systems such as IRIS, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is beneficial.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop within the accountancy profession.
