Salary: Starting salary of £38,000 per annum. Upon successful completion of the ACCA qualification and becoming fully chartered within the firm, salary increases to £45,000 per annum, reflecting the transition into a qualified accounting role.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our growing accountancy practice in London. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and completion of year-end accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Support the preparation and submission of personal tax returns, corporation tax computations, and VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the production of accurate financial reports and management information to support client decision-making.
- Carry out reconciliations of financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across accounting records.
- Assist with bookkeeping duties and maintenance of client financial systems.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
- Work closely with senior accountants to deliver high-quality client service and meet reporting deadlines.
- Participate in financial analysis tasks to help identify trends, variances, and performance insights.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent academic background).
- Working towards or holding a relevant Anti-Money Laundering (AML) qualification or certification.
- Previous exposure to accounting systems such as IRIS, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is beneficial.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
