Salary: £44,000 per annum 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and environmentally conscious graduate to join our team as a Trainee ESG Advisor. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in sustainable finance and responsible investing.

You will support the delivery of ESG-focused advisory services, helping clients and internal teams integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance considerations into financial decision-making. Working alongside experienced advisors, you will gain hands-on exposure to ESG frameworks, sustainable investment principles, and client-facing advisory work.

This role is designed to develop your technical knowledge, analytical ability, and advisory skills within a fast-growing area of the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior ESG advisors in delivering sustainable investment insights and client solutions
  • Assist in assessing ESG risks, opportunities, and performance across investments and client portfolios
  • Contribute to ESG reporting, client presentations, and advisory documentation
  • Conduct research on sustainability trends, regulatory updates, and responsible investment practices
  • Support client engagement by helping to understand ESG priorities and investment objectives
  • Assist in the development and refinement of ESG assessment frameworks and methodologies
  • Monitor industry developments in sustainability, climate risk, and corporate governance
  • Work collaboratively with investment, research, and compliance teams to ensure ESG alignment
  • Participate in training and development sessions to build ESG and financial advisory expertise

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Environmental Studies, or a related field
  • ESG Investment Strategies & Compliance Certification (required due to regulatory exposure within the role)
  • Strong interest in ESG, sustainability, and responsible investment
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret both financial and non-financial data
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within ESG advisory and investment services
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Professional attitude with a commitment to ethical and responsible finance
