Salary: Starting salary of £42,000 – £48,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications, experience, and overall suitability for the role.

As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a Trainee Compliance Analyst to join our Compliance and Regulatory Affairs team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a long-term career in compliance, risk, and financial regulation.

Role Overview:

As a Trainee Compliance Analyst, you will support the firm's compliance function by assisting with regulatory monitoring, policy reviews, client onboarding oversight, compliance testing, and financial crime prevention activities. Working alongside experienced compliance professionals, you will gain exposure to FCA regulations, AML requirements, consumer duty obligations, and broader regulatory frameworks.

This role provides structured training, professional development, and a clear pathway into senior compliance, risk, and governance positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with compliance monitoring activities and internal control reviews.
  • Support the review and approval process for financial promotions and marketing materials.
  • Assist with client onboarding reviews, KYC verification, and regulatory due diligence checks.
  • Support AML and financial crime compliance activities, including sanctions and PEP screening.
  • Help maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal guidance documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist in assessing their impact on business operations.
  • Support the preparation of compliance reports, management information, and regulatory submissions.
  • Assist with compliance testing programmes and thematic reviews.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory examinations where required.
  • Work collaboratively with departments including Operations, Risk, Finance, Sales, and Customer Services.
  • Help promote a strong culture of compliance, governance, and consumer protection across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Law, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • FCA/PRA regulations certification, AML qualification, or actively working towards a recognised compliance qualification.
  • Strong interest in compliance, regulation, governance, and financial services.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical business environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and capable of handling confidential information responsibly.
