Salary: Starting salary of £42,000 – £48,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications, experience, and overall suitability for the role.

Additional Compensation: Annual performance-related bonuses and incentive schemes are available, with realistic total earning potential of £50,000 – £60,000+ per annum based on performance and progression.

Our continued growth has created an opportunity for an ambitious Trainee Financial Analyst to join our team. Role Overview:

As a Trainee Financial Analyst, you will work closely with senior finance professionals, analysts, and business leaders to support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making activities.

You will gain hands-on experience analysing financial data, identifying business trends, preparing management reports, and supporting projects that influence key commercial and operational decisions. This role offers structured training, mentorship, and clear progression opportunities within finance and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and management information packs.
  • Analyse financial performance data and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across different business functions.
  • Assist with financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business planning.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor business performance against financial targets and objectives.
  • Conduct market and industry research to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting activities.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, compliance, and commercial teams on business initiatives.
  • Stay informed of economic developments, market conditions, and industry trends that may impact business performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Currently undertaking, or having successfully completed, an FCA/PRA-related professional qualification. 
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with large datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in financial analysis and business performance.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Previous experience in finance, accounting, data analysis, or financial services is advantageous but not essential.
