Salary & Benefits:

Base Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per annum, depending on experience and technical capability.

About the Role:

Our client is a corporate finance and advisory organisation specialising in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and strategic financial advisory services.

They are seeking a Junior Financial Data Analyst to join their growing analytics and deal support team. This role provides direct exposure to live transactions, where financial data is used to support valuation work, investment decisions, and client advisory outputs.

You will work closely with senior analysts, associates, and deal teams, contributing to real transaction processes rather than purely operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and structure financial datasets used in corporate transactions and advisory projects
  • Support valuation work including comparable company analysis and precedent transaction analysis
  • Assist in building and maintaining financial models used in M&A and capital markets activity
  • Prepare data-driven insights for pitch materials, investment memoranda, and client presentations
  • Conduct sector, competitor, and market research to support deal execution
  • Maintain and update deal pipelines, tracking systems, and financial databases
  • Support senior team members in preparing transaction summaries and analytical outputs
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used across live mandates
  • Assist in identifying trends and insights from financial and market datasets

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Holds or actively working towards UK financial services regulatory certification
  • Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling experience desirable)
  • Understanding of financial statements, valuation principles, and corporate finance basics
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in deadline-driven environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within deal teams
  • Strong interest in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial advisory

Desirable:

  • Exposure to financial modelling or valuation work
  • Internship or experience in finance, consulting, or banking
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar analytical platforms
